Firstly, we wish you a very happy and prosperous 2019!

Railroads impose fees when customers take too long to unload railcars, don’t have their facilities ready to pick up shipments, and take other actions that could cause slowdowns on the rail network.  The Surface Transportation Board questions the fairness of hitting shippers with fees while railroads aren’t penalized for subpar (aka crap) service.  We agree…but would like to see the railroads pushed into mandatory reciprocal switching…many shippers have tracks serving their plant that are owned by or connected to just one railroad.  They are then captive to that railroad for the line haul.  Reciprocal switching allows another railroad to do the line haul.
